Telefónica, S.A., together with its various subsidiaries, operates as a leading telecommunications service provider throughout Europe and Latin America. Its comprehensive mobile division offers voice communication, an array of value-added features, mobile data, and internet access. This includes wholesale services, corporate solutions, international roaming, fixed wireless options, and specialized trunking and paging functionalities. The company’s fixed-line offerings cover traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) connections, public telephone services, and extensive local, domestic, and international long-distance calling, including fixed-to-mobile communications. It also provides corporate communication tools, supplementary value-added services, video telephony, intelligent network solutions, and telephone information services. Additionally, Telefónica facilitates equipment provision through the leasing and sale of handset devices. As a significant internet and broadband multimedia provider, Telefónica functions as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and manages extensive portal and network infrastructure. It delivers both retail and wholesale broadband access, narrowband switched access, high-speed internet via Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. Beyond these core offerings, the company provides a suite of specialized business solutions, such as leased lines, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), fiber optic infrastructure, web hosting and application management, outsourcing and consultancy, desktop services, and comprehensive system integration and professional support. For other telecommunications operators, Telefónica furnishes a robust array of wholesale services. These encompass domestic interconnection, international wholesale agreements, leased lines, local loop leasing, bitstream services, wholesale line rental access, and the leasing of conduit infrastructure for their fiber optic deployments. Furthermore, its portfolio extends into digital entertainment with video and TV services, smart connectivity solutions, and consumer Internet of Things (IoT) products. The company also ventures into financial and payment services, cybersecurity, cloud computing, advertising, big data analytics, and aims to deliver a seamless digital telco experience. Telefónica develops virtual assistants, digital home platforms, and dedicated devices like Movistar Home. Complementing these, it offers various lifestyle services, including online telemedicine, home insurance, music streaming, and consumer lending. Telefónica, S.A. was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
