Novanta Inc. specializes in the development, manufacturing, and global commercialization of advanced components and integrated sub-systems across photonics, vision, and precision motion technologies. Catering to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), its solutions are vital for medical and industrial applications worldwide. The company’s Photonics segment delivers sophisticated solutions, encompassing laser scanning, beam delivery systems, various laser types (CO2, solid state, ultrafast), and optical light engines. These innovations find applications in industrial processing, precise measurement (metrology), medical and life science imaging, genetic sequencing, and diverse medical laser interventions. The Vision division supplies an array of medical-grade technologies, such as insufflators, pumps, and related disposables, alongside advanced visualization solutions. It also offers wireless communication, video recording devices, and video integration systems specifically designed for operating room environments, in addition to optical data acquisition, machine vision, radio frequency identification (RFID), thermal chart recorders, spectrometry, and embedded touchscreen technologies. Furthermore, its Precision Motion segment provides expertise in optical and inductive encoders, high-precision motors, advanced servo drives and motion control solutions, integrated stepper motors, intelligent robotic end-effectors, and air bearing systems, including spindles. Novanta Inc. employs a diverse sales strategy, leveraging its direct sales force alongside resellers, distributors, and system integrators. Its extensive product portfolio is marketed under a collection of well-known brands, including Cambridge Technology, Synrad, Laser Quantum, ARGES, WOM, NDS, NDSsi, Med X Change, Reach Technology, JADAK, ThingMagic, Photo Research, Celera Motion, MicroE, Zettlex, Applimotion, Ingenia, and Westwind. Tracing its origins to 1968, Novanta Inc. was formerly known as GSI Group, Inc., adopting its current name in May 2016. The company’s headquarters are situated in Bedford, Massachusetts.
